Hello, First i have been using jopensim for quite awhile and really like it, I am prob not using it to its full potential but had an idea i would like to work on.

Would it be possible in some way, when you set your joomla site to offline mode have to option to "Lock Down" the grid as well?
or maybe an option in the Jopensim component where you can restrict Grid login by mabe the grid level of the Avatar that you set in the jopensim/opensim user area.

Hope that makes sense..any ideas?

Hi biker

As far I understand, you mean a possibility to remotely execute the command "login level" in the robust console, right?

So far, I think remoteAdmin is not the right approach, since this is for the simulator console (see opensimulator.org/wiki/RemoteAdmin ).

Maybe there is another way to access this command. It's definately worth to have a look for it ;)

Hello, sorry it has taken so long for me to reply Login Trouble :),

Let me try to explain my thoughts,
When you set Joomla to offline mode, even the Splash screen attached is changed (jopensim splash)

What i was thinking, Is there a way that
1- As part of the jopensim module restrict logins to the grid (in profile you can set the avatar login level)
A messy way to do this would be to change all avatars below =specified level (150/200) "Maintenance/God" when a option in the jopensim admin menu is checked

2- somehow pass to the Robust or opensim.exe the login level command at say 100 This restricting the login to non Regular members.

Hope that makes sense

Hi biker

Yes it does :) Only thing is that (except standalone mode) opensim.exe does not handle the login level and there is no remote admin for robust.exe to be able to change this level remotely.

Of course there would be the possibility of setting the login level of all users (except maintenance level users) to e.g. -1 to disable login for them without to change the login level in the console. But as you already mentioned, this would be sorta a "messy" way ;)

Currently I'm a bit busy with finally publishing the promised jOpenSimPayPal, but this idea is definately worth to give it a closer look after that B)
