I\'m a bit mixed up with database connections - specially compared between opensim 0.6.x and 0.7.x

I have here what I\'ve found in the ini-files:

Talking about GridMode, I can see 13 or 14 possible database connections in version 0.6.x and 4 possible database connections in 0.7.x

Can somebody bring light into my confusion here?

Ok, so far I think the possible database connections are 8 for 0.6.x and 3 for 0.7.x if I look, what connections should be the same. I\'ve added a graphic with the values in each section of each ini file, to give an idea of how I think.

If I\'m wrong, I\'m thankful for corrections here. Mind, currently you dont need to be registered to post here, can post as a Guest as well already.

Port: what port
Database Host: same database as rest of site or
Database Name: etc

Estate Server: wtf is this
Database Host: and why doesnt is all auto install with the component

RemoteAdmin:
enable RemoteAdmin

User Permissions:
User can change First Name
User can change Last Name
User can change Email Address
User can change own Password
you instalation guid is very poor my friend

Once again: if you would know a setup of OpenSimulator, you\'ld know that we talk here at least about 3 (probably even more) different databases, not counting the database the site is on.

An extension always has to start somewhere and this is where I started. I\'m always thankful for critics and \"wishlists\", but I need a little more than just a \"wtf is this\" please!

enable RemoteAdmin and how in lamens term do you set this all up

cos all i get isthese errors
1:in admin when i click maps i get
Database Error: () Unable to connect to the database:Could not connect to MySQL
2:Send a message to all regions (RemoteAdmin must be enabled)
front end i get
CREATE_ACCOUNT
when you click createinworldaccount the screen goes blank
can you do a video on how to setup the admin setting in joomla for the component

The opensim server is usually always located on a different database than the website ... so it is usually NOT localhost, but that depends on your opensim configuration.

In the readme.pdf I wrote a few lines (see com_opensim->settings) where you can find the database settings of your opensim setup that needs to be entered here.

This is not the place where I should explain how to set up an opensim server. You find a lot of information at http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page about this ... and when you still have troubles, I can recommend http://lists.berlios.de/mailman/listinfo/opensim-users to sign up.

But I agree with you, blank screens are not nice and I will have to change that in future versions to avoid them in case of misconfiguration ... it will definately also get up to my todo list :)
