How to Set New Accounts Approval Only?

Hello again! I just tried installing Jopensim with all of its modules on a new grid setup, and things have worked great so far. Here is a question though and since it pertains to new registrations i thought it should go here: Is it possible to have new user accounts be unable to login until an admin manually approves them? This is a crucial function for the grid we are running, and need to know how to enable this so not just anyone can create an account and get in. Thank you for any advice

The plugin jOpenSimRegister currently creates an OpenSim account during Joomla registration regardless of the user account creation settings of Joomla. My plan is that it will stick to Joomlas setting ... if the Joomla account is approved from the beginning, OpenSim should as well ... if self or manual activation, it should create but disable until activated. This issue is a long time pushed out one on my todo list ... sorry

If you plan to activate OpenSim users manually, you currently have following possibility:

1. in jOpenSim -> global config -> user tab: set "Default User Level" to disabled
2. once u want to give acces, go to "Users", select the desired user and click on "Edit" and change Login Level to "Regular"

I know this isnt really a "handy" solution, activation should go hand in hand with Joomla user activation and one day the plugin jOpenSimRegister will handle this. Keep an eye to the Announcement Forum , I'll proudly announce it there

Thanks for the advice, but we have tried setting the Default User Level to Disabled, but even with that in place as soon as someone verifies the email wich the system sends to them they are able to IMMEDIATELY login to the grid without any admin intervention. This must be a bug I'm not aware of yet the plugin should respect this setting!

I'll have a look at this the next days and send a test version to your registered email if you want (if you prefer a different, just pm me).
